Solar Library Program

This canopy was built to provide an environmentally conscience community space for patrons to expand educationally and socially.

This 28×28 bespoke timber- framed solar canopy was designed by Couillard Solar Foundation Solar Canopies’, built by Breezy Hill Builders and Installed by Next Energy Solutions Inc. This canopy rests on a 32×34 concrete foundation laid by Kurt Tonn Excavating Inc. This solar array consists of 32 Philadelphia panels and Hoymiles microinverters with a 18.56kW power system. This array will produce approximately 25,746kWh annually, which will provide an offset of 100% of electrical usage for the library. We are so grateful to all of the private donations, grants and incentives to make this solar canopy possible in 2026.
